1948 Triumph Roadster

Hello,
 I’m thinking about adding a supercharger to try and make this car more enjoyable. At the moment it’s too slow, I don’t like holding up other drivers.
 I don’t think there’s much chance I’ll be a customer, but you never know - the Beetle bug may bite one day. But I can’t find anyone else that I can ask a few questions of.
 I have an AMR supercharger but am unsure whether it’s a 300 or 500.
(The car is 1800 cc so I think I’ll need a 500.)
If someone could give me a few dimensions so I can work out which this is, I would appreciate it.
Also do I need a relief/explosion valve with a draw through setup?
I’m not looking to make a race car, just make it  a bit less of a mobile chicane.
